The Porsche Panamera was first introduced in 2009 and took a few years and facelifts before it started to get accepted as a real performance five door.

Today it offers an Panamera Hatchback and Sports Turismo (estate) in a 4, 4s , GTS, Turbo and TurboS (E-Hybrid) varient. It offers a 2.9L petrol engine with 325bhp that gets you from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and if you choose the Benefit-in-kind friendly 4 E-hybrid models you get the same 2.9L engine with an electric motor that provides a 456bhp car pulling you from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds. Furthermore, the E-hybrid has a respectable pure electric rance of around 30 miles.

The 4s has the same 2.9L engine but tuned to give you 434bhp with a 0-62 of 4.4 seconds. If you have the Sport Chrono Pack it will it will do this in 4.2 seconds.

If these don't "float your boat" then you should consider the GTS, a 4.0L V8 turbocharged engine with 453bhp and a 0-62mph of 4.1 seconds?? No??

Then the Turbo is the one... Using the same 4.0L V8 engine, tuned to 542bhp and a 0-62mph of 3.8 seconds is surley good enough. If you want anymore, you can, you can have the Turbo S (E-Hybrid) which produces 617bhp with a top speed of around 193mph and a 0-62 sprint of 3.4 seconds.

The Panamera can tick all the boxes in performance, luxury and practicality. It's well specified, but does offer many many, many extras that you can choose from.

MPG, running costs & CO2;

Not designed with this in mind but choose the Hybrid and you will get some fair economy.

Engines, drive & performance;

Great to drive, handles like you would expect from a race pedigree car. They're rapid!

Interior & comfort;

It's spacious, luxurious and comfy.

Practicality & boot space;

With around 500L of boot space, it is a practical hatch with plenty of room for four.
