The Peugeot 5008 SUV is modern, stylish and like the 2008 and 3008, it is bold with it's sharp angular design and shows a little resemblance to the Land Rover Discovery Sport. It is packed with new technology such as the Digital i-Cockpit. It should be a potential buy against it's rivals including the Renault Koleos or Grand Scenic, the Skoda Kodiaq or the Nissan X-Trail.
It comes in petrol or diesel models; The 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel has a 128bhp and emits 139g/km of Co2, whilst returning around 57mpg. The 2.0L diesel offering 175bhp and a fuel return of 47mpg. The petrol versions have a 1.2L 129bhp engine which delivers around 39.6mpg, whilst the 1.6L petrol provides a 179bhp and around 47mpg.
The 5008 definately has a more upmarket feel to it, but if you want a better all round performer, you may want to consider the Skoda Kodiaq.
MPG, running costs & CO2;
Good fuel consumption with low Co2.
Engines, drive & performance;
Well positioned and drives nicely but does lack on overall driving fun.
Interior & comfort;
Comfy enough, modern. It's not best in class.
Practicality & boot space;
Practical and fit for five adults and two children in the rear two seats. The 950L boot space is great and one of the biggest in it's class.
Reliability & safety;
It is fairly reliable and should score well if it's get's a crash test from NCAP.
