The Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV are both practical and come with plenty of standars equipment. Styling and looks are a little off in comparison to it's rivals like the Nissan X-Trail, Skoda Kodiaq, Kia Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe. That said, the Outlander PHEV does stand in it's own class and is one the best selling Plug-in Hybrid vehicles in the world.
It's a shame this model is only available from stock or at least until emission regulations force it off the road for the UK market.
***Mitsubishi has announced (27th July 2020) it is whithdrawing from the UK and European market. The Colt car company confirm it will no longer bring in any new models to the UK. Only current models like the popular Outlander and L200 will continue to be sold until they no longer meet the emmissions regulations.. It is to part of a global restructure to protect it's profitability and concentrate on core markets. Servicing and Aftercare will resume.****

Fairly economical, more so with the PHEV
Engines, drive & performance;
Well positioned but awful drive and responsivness unless you are off-road.
Interior & comfort;
Bland and not modern.
Practicality & boot space;
A Practical SUV, it has seven seats with a 900L boot space (886 for the PHEV).
Reliability & safety;
A five year warranty is attractive but not enough to compensate for it's overall reputation for poor reliability.
