The Mini was first launched back in August 1959 under the Austin and Morris Motors names which was apart of the British Motor Corporation (BMC). It was purchased by the BMW group from the Rover Group in 1994 before rebranding to the new Mini Hatch models from 2000.

The original (or classic) MINI was considered an icon of 1960's British popular culture and this reputation still lives today in the new MINI hatch models. The range has increased and you can now purchase a hatch, convertible, countryman (estate/SUV) as well the the MINI Cooper performance models.
